Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) – “Conference Planning, Training, and Technical Assistance.”  CNCS is the nation’s largest grantmaker supporting service and volunteering. Through the Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America (LSA) programs, CNCS provides opportunities for Americans to volunteer to address critical community needs. AFYA provides pre, onsite, and postmeeting services, as well as technical assistance and training. We plan dozens of Pre-service Orientation Sessions (PSOs) for thousands of VISTA volunteers each year and plan components of the annual National Conference on Volunteerism and Service, attended by more than 5,000 individuals.

Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) – “Peer Review Management.”  AFYA has  provided grant application review services to the CNCS Office of Grant Policy and Operations (OGPO) under three separate task orders. We have provided support for nine reviews, including one onsite (in-person) and six teleconference (field reviews), for the AmeriCorps*State, AmeriCorps*National, and LSA programs. Our staff are trained in the operation of eGrants (the non-intuitive Oracle database used by CNCS to manage grant application, review, award, and administration).

Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) – “Grant Review Process Evaluation.”  To complement the grant application review services AFYA provides CNCS, our researchers designed and implemented online evaluation procedures to enable us to seek critical feedback on Agency processes. We evaluated AmeriCorps*State, AmeriCorps*National, and both LSA Higher Education and School-Based reviews. AFYA produced highly detailed evaluation reports that provided CNCS with a wealth of data from reviewers and facilitators that the Corporation used to improve their review processes.
