Administration for Children and Families (ACF)/HHS – “Logistical Management and Consultant Support Services for Rapid Response Technical Assistance for Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) and Welfare to Work (WtW) Programs.” AFYA has provided quick-reaction technical assistance and logistical support services to ACF’s Office of Family Assistance (OFA) for more than 130 events. Since our first ACF contract was awarded in 1998, AFYA has planned numerous TANF and WtW events, including ones to promote OFA’s healthy marriage and fatherhood initiatives. AFYA-planned events have included a major, national meeting, the “Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood Conference,” as well as a range of national and regional TA events, training sessions, and workgroup meetings.

Office on Women’s Health (OWH)/HHS – “Environmental Scan of Current Girl/Adolescent Health Activities for Development of a National Girl-Adolescent Health and Wellness Initiative.” AFYA is conducting a multi-faceted study to develop a set of recommendations that will guide OWH in creating and implementing this new, important initiative. We are identifying the top 10 priority health issues impacting girls and adolescents; conducting a comprehensive literature review; and analyzing relevant laws, regulations, and policies. We are also identifying existing best practice models as well as potential, key partners for OWH. The project will culminate with the development of a comprehensive final report and a presentation to top OWH and HHS executives.
